Abit IL90MV motherboard

I've been looking closely at this motherboard and Have been wondering what peoples experiences have been with this board. I'm interested in two area's.

1: Has anyone been able to completely passively cool there system with one of these boards and if not, what have they used for cooling and what levels of system noise have they achieved? Does the supplied fan run frequently and how noisy it it?

and

2: Whether the HMDI connection does actually display the whole visible display on a 1368x768 display correctly or does some adjustment need to be done ( overscan ) ?

This looks like an excellent board, but don't want to have to replace my current set up if this is not going to be the ideal solution.

Thanks

Re: Abit IL90MV motherboard

I'm thinking about getting a Silverstone LC19 preconfigured with the Abit IL90MV mobo from auspcmarket.com.au. However, I need to know whether it will power HDTV 1080p content. Can anyone answer this?

Alternatively, does anyone know of any good mATX board that have good onboard video (HDMI/HDCP at 1080p)?

Cheers, froowstie

Re: Abit IL90MV motherboard

There's a good review of the board here: http://www.hothardware.com/viewartic...leid=906&cid=3

It suggests the onboard video doesn't have any issue driving 1080p content providing the CPU is fast enough.

This combined with a nice case seems to be a good compromise against a fanless mini-itx htpc combo which seems a bit risky at the moment.... I think I'm going to go ahead and order it!

cheers, froowstie

Re: Abit IL90MV motherboard

We've sold 3 or 4 systems based on that board and the LC19, no issues raised their heads that I know of. The PSU is enough to run it all. If you were inventive you could probably make up a block of aluminium with fins to replce the tiny fan that comes with the boards.
