Re: Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard

Hi Arangan,

I've built three HTPC's with this motherboard and would definately recommend it. It's stable, quiet and as a bonus includes a component out module. Onboard sound and video also work well. I've paired it with a 3800+ X2 which is more than adequate, you could probably save a couple of dollars and combine it with one of the new 3600+ X2's instead. Only complaint is lack of onboard digital audio out, the module for this can be a little difficult to get hold of too.

The board also has no problem with going in and out of standby mode.

Enjoy the build!

I've also had no problems with it. I have a 3500+ AM2 (single core) and I don't have any speed problems. The onboard sound and video work brilliantly. Check staticICE for the SPDIF module. I got mine from Adelaide online computers - great service & price!

Re: Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard

Iv been trying to get a board with SPdif out and I cant find one. I saw a new Asus board on the site which apparently has a SPDIF out plug Asus M2V-TVM. I went to he shop to pick it up today, MSY didnt have it so a drive to CPL in the city (melbourne) where I called up and they had it but when I got there it seemed it didnt have this, I was shown another (this one) and was advised it had it so I bought it but it didnt only the Video connectors, going outta my mind trying to get a Micro ATX board with SPDIF connector on it!

anybody know a place in melbourne where I can get a cheap Audio card that has SPDIF or optical out? Or even a bettter option get the original daughter card for this Mobo

Re: Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard

well Ive built this HTPC for my customer from this board, I hope I can get the daughterboard for the SPDIF this week or I'll have to source another audio card with optical out or SPDIF.

It is a great board, running it with a Sempron AM2 2800+ 64bit CPU, runs very quiet and cool. I wouldnt mind replacing my rig with this thing
