3) The actual revision of the Cinergy 2400i DT (both versions) does not work with i915m chipsets. We have located the problem and fixed it. The next hardware revision (shipped from week 11, 2006) will work with the chipset mentioned.
So by my calculations we're now in week 13 - has anyone heard whether the terratec mob are shipping the new hardware revision?

just a quick heads-up. The shipping of the new hardware revision has been delayed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Owners of the i915m will still have to wait - all other chipsets work.
Thanks for keeping us informed Daniel. This seems like a popular tuner, due to it's PCI-Ex1 interface and the success of so many people using it so far. Now all you need is an Australian distributor!! Have you approached someone like Altech or MMT as yet?, they would seem like good matches for your product, given their 'Multimedia' orientations....
Just a notification that the review has been updated with more up to date information on the motherboard compatability issues (I had updated previously without the announcement, but though it would be better if I announced any changes made).
i have the mobo Aopen i915-Gmm HMS and i face the same problem as you, the 2400i card doesn't work in the pcie 1x. I read that it works on the 16x PCI, but i don't succeed.
What is the procedure to follow to work it in the PCI-E 16X ? (Bios ? Jumpers to remove ?, ...)

Fabien,
All that needs to be done is to configure the BIOS to initalise the PCI express graphics first intead of the on board graphics. When you reboot there will be a longer delay than normal before the graphics initialise, but the system should boot normally.
I will post the same reply in the AOpen forum as well.
thanks for the reply. I did what you said. In BIOS, there are 2 entries (in Advanced Chipset Features menu). Here my config:
PEG/On Chip VGA Control -> PCI Express
Init Display First -> PCI
I also remove the jumper JP91 & JP83 (i condamn DVI out).
But when i boot, there is a bip sound emitted by the motherboard and Windows XP SP1 does not detect the card at all.

Did i do something wrong ?

Fabien,
There is no need to remove any Jumpers, I would re-fit them. What BIOS version are you running, I'm running the latest (1.11). The BIOS settings are all you need to change, refit the jumpers and try again.
Where are you located? Terratec will be releasing a new version of the Cinergy 2400i that will work in the x1 PCIe slot shortly. If your card is new, it might be less trouble for you to RMA the card and get a new version.
and your biggest tip: "Don't open MCE until right at the end of the sequence"
I must admit with the trouble I've experience I was extremely sceptical that it would work.
I opened MCE, it recognised the tuner card, I scanned for channels (took two attempts) and much to my surprise 29 channels.
thank you so much
now to get my xbox 360 working
cheers

Hi tj,
I'm glad to have helped out . I vaguely remember writing that somewhere sometime . The advice is based on quite a few systems that have been built (and upgraded).
i have installed the BIOS 1.11 (latest version) and i replaced all the jumpers that i removed but problem still the same. A BIP sound during the boot sequence and windows XP SP1 does not detect the card.
I set in the BIOS:
- PEG/OnChip VGA Contro -> PCI Express
- Init display first -> PCI
and i tried all combinations without any success

Hi Fabien,
That's the same setup I have, although I am running MCE (which has XP SP2 by default).
If you take a look in the device manager can you see any unrecognised components? Have you tried installing XP SP2?
i think SP2 will not resolve the problem because it's when i reboot computer that the BEEP sound appears. When i plug off main power, the system seems working but seems instable. And when windows is booting, the BEEP sound. It's strange. I will try to install SP2 (for my needs i did not want but have no choice now).
