I found this thread after i wondered about so many Cinergy 2400i DT and Cinergy 2400i DT MCE actually being ordered from Australia.
Just some quick explanations on topics in this thread:
1) We have recently added Australia as a country for shipment - no need to put in Rest of the World any longer - my apologies for being ignorant...
2) The only difference between Cinergy 2400i DT and the MCE version is that the MCE version lacks the remote control and additional software which you wonīt use as a MCE user.
3) The actual revision of the Cinergy 2400i DT (both versions) does not work with i915m chipsets. We have located the problem and fixed it. The next hardware revision (shipped from week 11, 2006) will work with the chipset mentioned.
4) If you are running into problems using a nforce mainboard make sure to update the nforce-drivers. There has been an issue which has been fixed with a new driver revision recently.
5) Currently there is no distributrion in Australia. I will keep you informed once this will change.
Thatīs it for now. I will not be able to stop by over here regularly. Thanks for your time and good fun building and using your personal MCE systems...
Thanks very much for your input on the review and for taking the time to vist our community. I'm sure I can speak for everyone if I say your presence and comments are greatly appreciated.
Can you shed some more light on this? I checked out their website and couldn't find anything new. Do you have a link or something?
I've been sent the update (which works for me) after raising the problems with the shuttle support people. I think there's a form on their website. Otherwise I've uploaded the file, the suggested awdflash flags are:

Ahh I see. Can you email me the file?

I had a go at getting the Terratek into my Shuttle SN25P last night. I have a Sparkle 6800 GT Platinum card in the x16 slot and the heatsink goes right to the edge of the x1 slot. I was not able to fit the tuner in next to it wihout some solder traces on the Terratek potentially being shorted by the graphics heatsink. So I didn'y get it in and I'm not sure if i will be able to! There is also a space issue with some power and SATA cables by these may be able to be re-routed.
If I can get some thin mylar insulation to separate the cards I may be able to squeeze it in, but I'm not sure how this will effect the airflow around the grpahics card. I think I'll drop the PC into the techs where I bought it (under warranty) and see what they think.
Any thoughs?
Sblock... I also have a Shuttle SN25P and I've been looking at the Terratek as well - I have the same problems as you I suspect... I've got an MSI PCI-e Card installed and although the heatsink is pretty small, peering down into the chassis I can tell its going to be a TIGHT fit!
How did your install go? Have you blown your video card up? Any solution or recommendation, or should I start looking at an external USB Tuner?
I did have a bit a go at it and it is very tight! I have Sparkle NVIDIA 6800 GT with a pretty hefy heatsink. I have decided to drop it into the shop that built the PC for me to see if they can do it as it will be under warranty then. I still havn't had the chance to do that! Hopefuully this week. It may be possible with perhaps a sheet of mice insulation between the back of the tuner card and the heaksink? I'll let you know how it goes.
What do you use for an anlogue card? I believe the MCE systems require you to have an analogue card befor they will let you install a DT card.

Having pulled most of my hair out with my divico i have bought a cinergy 2400i DT (full edtion which was a little silly but the only one i could get hold off, more remotes i don't need!)
Installed fine and then when returning from standby i got an IRQ greater or less than blue screen. This would return every time i tried to wake it from standby (hibinate was fine)
The rest of my hair fell out. I spent a couple of hours trying to solve the problem. In the end i removed all pci cards except the cinergy. Still the same error.
Finally solved it by moving the card from my pcie to the pcie 16 slot on my asrock motherboard.
I haven't put the terratec sound card back in as i don't want to tempt fate, and the on board sound seems fine.
I have yet to soak test this but other than requiring a stronger signal than the divico it has given me a lot less grief to install (besides this minor hiccup)
Yes it is but it didn't say on the web (not that i found anyway). I'd have bought it before the divico if i knew it was hdtv ready and saved myself months of frustration
(having said that it didn't work with the original drivers, so i would have had to have waited for the latest betas to be released anyway!!)
I'm about to order a 2400i from Terratec. Just wondering though, on their product page, most of the other cards list AC3 sound, but not the 2400i. As I will be using the card in an MCE box, will this mean that I'll still get AC3, and it'll be up to the PC to provide it? Or will I be limited to stereo sound (blerk!).
As i understand it (or at least i think the way my box is currently working)
The Cinergy decodes the tv siginal and the sound as a stero signal. However pro logic is encoded on the stero channels. I have power dvd installed so the encoder that comes with that will decode the pro logic siginal out of the stero signal automatically.
Cyberlink also has a setting to expand stero sounds which it get right most of the time (ie it guess whats a voice and sends it to the centre speaker,) you tend to get a bit of unwanted noise coming through the rear speakers but since in this case the sound was never encoded this way you can't really fault the decoder.
In the uk you can't get a better sound than pro logic through freeview or standard tele. The HDTV format is still in its infancy and this may or may not support a higher channel format when finally released. However this will still be encoded in the stero channel so you going back to your decoder software to sort this for you.
Power dvd 6 will do all of this for you, the cinergy card comes with a cyberlink decoder which i haven't used but may well be the same as the doder that comes with power dvd.
So in answer to the question yes you'll get ac3 sound, you may just have to by a diffrent decoder to the one that comes in the box.
PS if you do get the card load the beta drivers straight away as the ones that come with it don't work so well.
