Yeah I have had this exact same problem, very dissapointing. The card does work in the x16 slot however I have had to sacrifice my DVI monitor connection in order to enable this via the jumper setting.

Now that I have the card installed properly I can only get 7 channels in MCE however I should be getting 29 channels. Where should I start looking to tweak this?

Oh all the computer problems I have experienced in the past I would have to say TV tunners are the most annoying thing.

Thanks for the replies,

I think I'll give this card a miss for now.

Hi Reemo, do you have rollup 2 installed, also, did you have a tuner installed previously? If you did have another tuner installed previously try deleting all the services and starting again.

Cheers,

George.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

I got my Terratek in the first week of January but have not had a chance to install it yet. Hopefully this weekend. Two questions:
- is this actually a HD DVB-T tuner? I though it was only SD because it never claims to be HD compatible? Nice bonus if it is!!!
- I will be installing (I hope) in a Shuttle SN25P with AMD X2 3800+ and 2GB RAM. This model has the nForce chipset so I shouldn't have any issues with the 915 chipset problem. Any other issue anyone has heard of with this model? Holding it up to the Shutle chassis this is going to be a squeeze getting it in!

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Hi sBlock,

I received my Cinergy tuner last night, but like you I'm still building my MC so won't be able to test it for a week or so.

George talks of receiving HD channels above, so I'm thinking it must, although the pachaging doesn't actually mention SD or HD anywhere.

I've got the AMD X2 3800+ and 2GB RAM as well so I'll be very interested to here how you go

Hi Oz,

We've noticed this and it's been reported to Mike. Must be something screwy with the Review module.

Cheers

Be careful with your choice of MB and CPU as I don't think PCIe is supported on AMD MB's

STOP PRESS> ignore that last post..I just checked and I see a few AMD mb's do in fact support PCIe, but only 939 socket board. Must be relatively new?

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Hi all,

I had a go at getting the Terratek into my Shuttle SN25P last night. I have a Sparkle 6800 GT Platinum card in the x16 slot and the heatsink goes right to the edge of the x1 slot. I was not able to fit the tuner in next to it wihout some solder traces on the Terratek potentially being shorted by the graphics heatsink. So I didn'y get it in and I'm not sure if i will be able to! There is also a space issue with some power and SATA cables by these may be able to be re-routed.

If I can get some thin mylar insulation to separate the cards I may be able to squeeze it in, but I'm not sure how this will effect the airflow around the grpahics card. I think I'll drop the PC into the techs where I bought it (under warranty) and see what they think.

Any thoughs?

Thumbs up Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Great review - I've been drooling over this card since I first read about it here late last year.

Has there been any word from Terratec about the chipset issue? The 99 Euro version of the card just came back into stock, and I'm loath to buy before I know that the problem can be resolved.

Terratec have just come back to me and said that my motherboard (AOpen i915GMm-HFS) isn't supported. Hazarding a guess this might be the case with all i915M chipset motherboards . Terratec aren't completely sure, they are still testing.

Cheers,

George.

Hi Reemo,

Shuttle have apparent released a BIOS update that addresses the resource problem.

Cheers,

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Hello community.

I found this thread after i wondered about so many Cinergy 2400i DT and Cinergy 2400i DT MCE actually being ordered from Australia.

Just some quick explanantions on topics in this thread:

1) We have recently added Australia as a country for shipment - no need to put in Rest of the World any longer - my apologies for being ignorant...

2) The only difference between Cinergy 2400i DT and the MCE version is that the MCE version lacks the remote control and additional software which you wonīt use as a MCE user.

3) The actual revision of the Cinergy 2400i DT (both versions) does not work with i915m chipsets. We have located the problem and fixed it. The next hardware revision (shipped from week 11, 2006) will work with the chipset mentioned.

4) If you are running into problems using a nforce mainboard make sure to update the nforce-drivers. There has been an issue which has been fixed with a new driver revision recently.

5) Currently there is no distributrion in Australia. I will keep you informed once this will change.

Thatīs it for now. I will not be able to stop by over here regularly. Thanks for your time and good fun building and using your personal MCE systems...
