Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

The site is called Digital Broadcasting Australia and the URL for Gold Coast is http://www.dba.org.au/index.asp?sectionID=22. You will need to specify you location within Gold Coast or specify postcode. You will need to take the frequencies multiply them with 1 million and then convert them to double word hex values and place them in ascending order.

For Gold Coast / Gold Coast the frequency conversion is:
585.625 = 22E7EDA8
634.625 = 25D39BE8
704.625 = 29FFB968
725.625 = 2B4028A8
746.625 = 2C8097E8
767.625 = 2DC10728
788.625 = 2F017668
809.625 = 3041E5A8

The registry file will look like:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\DigitalTVAutoTune\TS61-1]
"1"=dword:22E7EDA8
"2"=dword:25D39BE8
"3"=dword:29FFB968
"4"=dword:2B4028A8
"5"=dword:2C8097E8
"6"=dword:2DC10728
"7"=dword:2F017668
"8"=dword:3041E5A8

If you live in one of the other locations in Gold Coast (ie Currumbin or Southern Hinterland) Then you will need to apply this technique to your frequencies.

I'm in Perth too and just got the Terratec 2400i. It installed very quickly but I too am missing channel 9 and SBS 1. I tried the greenbutton link but site seems to be down.

This is what I did so far:

a) 177.5 (Channel 7)
b) 191.625 (Channel 9)
c) 219.5 (Channel 10)
d) 226.5 (ABC)
e) 536.625 (SBS)

x 1,000,000 =

a) 177500000 Hex = A946F60
b) 191625000 Hex = B6BF728
c) 219500000 Hex = D154DE0
d) 226500000 Hex = D801DA0
d) 536625000 Hex = 1FFC3F68

Edit: Like DarcyB said I erased all other entries (about 20 of them) and created my own.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Friggen Fantasic! Works 100%!! Now my Media PC is complete!. Cheers for this hack!

DarcyB: thanks for the attachment man.

When I did it manually I only created the TS61-1 not the TS61-0 (I'm assuming this is for the other tuner.)

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Since the 'positive' nature of this thread things seem to have headed down hill at Terratec.

There appear to be all sorts of problems with Vista support - and the Company has gone unhelpful, unresponsive and defensive of any commentary to this effect.

Read the posts in the Vista forum before considering this card.

Smile Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

Hi.
I hope I may be able to help any 2400i users running Vista..

I now appear to have a 2400i running stable under Media Center on Vista x64. It also works with the terratec sw. Both tuners are fine for UK DVB broadcasts.

The issues I've had included

* In my Dell Dimension 5150 there was originally a bios incompatability. After ~ 3 months almost simultaneously dell released a bios patch, and terratec replaced my card. Either 1 of those fixed the problems. I used to get a blue screen (NMI interrupt) almost everytime I use the card. Now I don't (although I've perhaps seen in ~3 times in 6 months, so maybe there's a very minor hole lurking)

* I run Vista x64. Drivers must be signed. When terratec had no vista drivers I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to use the ones they ship for Windows XP x64. I then "self-signed" them, and configured my system to accept my self-generated certificate. You can read more on my blog . I'm happy to answer any questions, although it would be great if you could take a read first (just short of time that's all...). Since that time terratex have shipped vista x64 drivers, but I'm not convinced they're signed, so I've kept with my own.

* I was getting tv/video stuttering. One day I had (stuttering) TV up, and was replacing my network adapter driver. As the device "went down" the TV became smooth. I repeated these tests with different driver levels and consistently found that my Netgear WG311T wireless card was the cause of the stutters. As an experiment I used a cheap "bluenext" (also atheros) USB wireless dongle and my problems went away. (the wg311t has been permanently swapped into the old PC now!)

I realise this isn't as good as official terratec support, but Hope this helps.

- Nigel.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE Edition

just dont try and run 2 of these cards under vista, it doesn't work!

One card works 100% fine, but with 2 cards and the reghack done, or the use of the MCETunerApp, it doesn't work. You end up only being able to record 2 things at once, and
get an error when trying to record a third.

2 cards however run 100% fine under MCE2005 with the reghack or use of MCETunerApp.

I've tried both the 64-bit and 32-bit drivers under vista.
