I can't seem to get the media browser tile working in W7 RTM. Im using the latest media centre studio and can move the tile around to the strip I want but when I click on it in mc, nothing happens.
I added the media browser entry point under ápplication' but can someone confirm the path I need to enter. Perhaps this is where I'm getting it wrong.
Otherwise, what else could it be?

Re: Media browser entry point not working
I have had the same problem. Mediabrowser works fine when it is on it's original strip, but when I move it to any other strip, it appears, but is non functioning.

Re: Media browser entry point not working
I can replicate this but at the moment I have no idea why it's happening. I'll post again when I do.

Re: Media browser entry point not working
I uninstalled/ reinstalled media browser and it showed up in it's own strip in mcs as it's supposed to (and the entry point works in mc). IT's whenever I move it it has problems.
I wanted to add it to the movies strip (I can't recall if that's possible because it's a default strip- I did that in vista with menu mender). OR at least chaneg the name of the media browser strip and call it 'movies'then get rid of the defualt movies strip but when I try that, it won't show up in mc.
Thanks for having a look for us. I look forward to see if you come up with anything

Re: Media browser entry point not working
So has anyone been able to move the media browser entry point to another strip?
I thought about doing it the 'registry way' but does that cause problems with media centre studio?

Re: Media browser entry point not working
I am having a similar issue (I think)..
I create a new Start menu strip, put in some entrypoints, and then start up media center... I can see the icons on the start menu but when I click on them, nothing happens...
I am curious how you are placing the entrypoints within Media center? I do not see any of the new start menu nor entrypoints in the categories key (in the registry).
If I create my own menu strip (manually) and then put entrypoints into that menu strip using MCS, it works fine. But if I create a menu strip using MCS and put entrypoints in, I don't see the menu strip in the registry..

Re: Media browser entry point not working
Yeah kinda... I am working on the Media Browser project and I am creating multiple entry points into media browser... So yes I am using Media browser, but not like everyone else is...
That might be where the problem lies... I noticed (not confirmed) that the problem only occurs with entrypoints in ehres. If they are in the registry it is fine...
EDIT: I tried creating a new menu strip and putting some entrypoints in it, but I can't get mcs to put it in ehres, mcs is always creating the menu strip in the registry.

Re: Media browser entry point not working
Ok, I still don't know why this happens, but I have a workaround:At this point the original Media Browser strip should be hidden and any new Media Browser tiles you've added should work. Somehow having the original tile existing (even if it's not showing) enables it to launch successfully.
- Get into a state where Media Browser launches correctly off its own strip.
- Disable the Media Browser strip (that's the checkbox to the left of the strip title - NOT the delete button!).
- Open the Entry Points window and drag the Media Browser entry point to wherever you want it to go. Do NOT drag the Media Browser entry point that is already in the Media Browser strip - use the one from the Entry Points window.
I don't know why this works, or why it only happens with Media Browser (as far as I know), but at least you can work around it. It worked for me, anyway![]()

Re: Media browser entry point not working
Thanks advent...that did the trick.
Now I just want to be able to figure out how to change the order in which my categories are displayed on the first page of mb![]()

Re: Media browser entry point not working
The logic is to ALWAYS create it as an ehres resource, unless you're running non TV-Pack Vista, in which case the logic is to always use the registry.
