New util: MC Menu Mender
this thread has 574 replies and has been viewed 173198 times
I have an install (or two) of MyTV which I uninstalled, but now have a screwed up MC Menu.
Is there an easy way back to the default settings?
Can you drag the broken links from the custom strips into the bin (try dragging the empty space above the link text)? (can't check myself, at work right now) If not, try overwriting the links with new ones from the list at the bottom, and then dragging the new link back into the bin. When you've got rid of all of them, the strips won't show up in MC anymore.
I'll make sure that this is handled gracefully in the next version.

I can't drag the empty spaces or write over them. Can I delete them in the registry?

Ok, have to do it the hard way
Delete the following key (and all its subkeys - this is from memory, so it might not be exact - delete anything with Advent in it): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Extensibility\Categories\Advent
You may also need to delete the keys under (i.e. don't delete this acual key, just the children): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Start Menu\Applications
Alternatively, you could reinstall MyTv, fix the menu, then uninstall it again

This may not pertain directly to this plugin, but hopefully someone can help....Is there a way to edit what the text of the icon is? For myTV, the main icon is labled "Main Menu"...I would like to renam that to MyTV or something. Can this be done?
Also, myTV added it's own strip. Can this plugin remove that strip? I'd like to get rid of it, and only have the main menu icon for myTV in the TV & Movie strip.
It doesn't rename it, I think if you changed the registry key that is added at installation to myTV it should work, but I haven't done it.
As for hiding the strip, you can do that through - Tasks & Settings - General - Program Library - Edit Start Menu (or something along those lines) and unchecking myTV.

This is a great utility by the way. I just have one question though. I recently setup my Vista MCE in the Australian region and I think it downloaded and installed Bigpond Movies and some other GO radio or streaming music app. When I use MC Menu Customiser these apps don't appear so I can't delete them. Any ideas?
