Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Hi, I just installed the Menu Mender app and it is great! Tidied up my unused VMC menus nicely. Just 2 questions on things I can't figure out.

Is it possible to change the icon for an existing entry point? (want to change the PowerDVD 9 logo to the default 'play dvd' icon which looks much more consistent with the rest of the MC icon)

Can an existing entry point be copied to a new strip? (duplicated, not just moved) Or can the properties or an existing entry point be viewed so I could make a new one the same?

Cheers!

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

I don't know if this will work, but you could try selecting a different icon for the app by right clicking the icon (on the desktop), select properties/change icon.

I suspect that this will only change that icon, so you could also try swapping out the PowerDVD icon (do a search in the program folder) for the image you want. I have never tried this so it might be completely wrong - but though it might be a start??

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Thanks for the suggestion, but changing the app icon didn't seem to change the icon for the entry point in VMC.

Something I just noticed.. after using Menu Mender to edit menus, the top level menu entry point that is added when PowerDVD9 is installed disappears.

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

In the application directory, there should be a png file, sometimes called application.png.

Try finding that and replacing it.

Cheers, found both of them now.

Now I just want to find the original VMC 'play dvd' icon. There was a thread I remember reading a while back that had a discussion about manually editing the VMC menus (before MC Menu Mender was developed)... does anyone have the link to that? Might be able to find some info to help me in there

Edit: found the icons saved them from the .dll

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

hey folks,

ok, so recently i decided to go back to SP1 with nothing else. i dont do the whole tv-tuner thing, so no need for even those couple of must have hotfixes! i want to keep it this way, because i like the idea of being able to change the theme if i want, when i want using that mediacenter fx app.

anyhow, question is, in resposne to Advent's reply to Auldar below:

how does this go for deleting strips/items??

i'm not at home at the moment to try and just thought i'd find out now and put myself out of my misery!!

i know advent mentioned a while ago in another post of mine of combining this app and the ability to theme VMC into one for those running VMC with sp1 and tvpack (and now possibly sp2!?!?) but seeing as i'd like to try to set things up best as i can now, i just wanted to see how close i'm going to get now with regards to how i used to have my menu set up

thanks,
Dodgy Bob

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Advent,

Worth adding that I am running the RC in a 'production environment' (ie. the living room!) and also on a couple of desktops (one x86 and one x64) and a laptop. I'd be more than happy to alpha/beta for you as well.

You know, I think you'd make a fair bit out of donations if you could get Menumender working on 7...

Hi Guys.

Had the same problem that Rick mentioned above. Further, I've lost default playback of Blu-Ray while in VMC to Power DVD.

I'm getting an error now - "No program is installed to play Blu-Ray disc in Windows Media Centre".

I've tried un-installing PDVD and re-installing and hitting default in menu mender to try and regain it.

Anyone got any ideas??
