New util: MC Menu Mender
this thread has 574 replies and has been viewed 173490 times
Aha, ok, thx.
Or create an extra option in Menu Mender to first export (backup) all registry entries which could be changed during the use of Mender. So that the changes Menu Mender has made can be undone. If in the meantime other applications made changes to the same registry settings as well, bad luck. One can go back then to the situation before Menu Mender.
I think this would be more confusing than the current situation - people would lose entry points etc for installed plugins. If you really want to be sure, just create a system restore point before installing MM.

Correct.

A bit too simple. I'm not saying it's not possible (and i'm not saying it is either), but I am saying that it's a lot of work and i'd rather spend that time on other things, given the low demand for this feature thus far - this is all done in my spare time, after all.

It's not YOU editing the registry that i'm worried about - it's other apps, or VMC itself. If this was a commercial app (or we lived in an ideal world) I'd agree with you, but it's not - it's free, and it comes with no guarantees.
You have a valid point, but then again, benthomas might have been directed to this topic from another topic or forum (or even a Google search), that had a direct link to the topic (possibly half way through the thread. It is quite possible that he didn't notice the naviagation tree at the top - I know I only rarely look at it if I have come to a topic from a search or other place.

At any rate... yes, 0.4.3 is the latest version, and it is x86 Vista compatible.
Thanks for that. And 'kaajee', I know where I am and I've read most of the pages of this thread, I was actually asking whether it was the latest 32-bit compatible version.
Quick update on a Windows 7 version - so far no good. Some apparent behavioural changes in the win32 resource APIs are causing me problems...
I know early adopters are keen for the app but I would postone working on it 'til RTM.. it's simply a waste of time to put work into something that is still being fiddled with under the hood. Give yourself a proper break Advent, you deserve it.
Being a newlywed, I'm sure you would prefer to be working on adding custom strips to your family tree

Haha, nice.
I don't have much time to go around, so I've more or less decided to concentrate on getting my theme app working to a good enough point for an alpha release. With any luck it will work on all versions of MC (Vista, TV Pack and 7MC), and include the same menu editing functionality as Menu Mender. So, it will take a bit longer but hopefully the result will be much better!

I have added the link to your Menu Mender application to my Plug In blog (http://links.amd.com/Plugin) as well as to a blog I will be posting tomorrow on Hulu, Netflix and YouTubeXL.
Let me know when your next app is available and I will add that as well.

This is my first post, never really had to use it before. However, i highly rely on mc menu mender and I recently got into changing my media center theme through FX. Something happen along the way and i lost mc menu mender due to an error. I was changing my ehres around and must have made a mistake somewhere.
I have uninstalled everything including FX, mc menu mender and even .net 3.5 sp1.
I still have the same problem.
I even did a system restore from windows to get back to my original state but still the same error.
Please someone help or let me know how I coul contact the developer. ahhh
