[QUOTE=swears;211555]Hi, I've installed your program and did some great stuff w/ it, but managed to mess it up somehow. Now when I try to open, I get a huge error message, and the program won't load.QUOTE]
Hi Advent,
Thank you for this awum program.
Im having the same problem as Swears...
It worked the first few times and then suddenly it just won't start anymore.
I can think of two things I might have changed that could cause it to break...
1. I added Windows Calculator as an entry point and enabled "Wrapper".
2. I unchecked multiple programs in the Vista Media Center - Programs Library.
Thats after the last time MenuMender worked and after that comes up with a msgbox with a Huge Error.
Un-install, restart and re-install did not work. Also combed through the registry and removed all the entries I could find.
I have just reloaded the pc with Vista again. so won't be able to give you the error msg now. But if/when it happens again I will post it.
Hope that helps
Not complaining. Just want to help get this program working... Id be lost without it.
JavaH, i'm actually thinking about reinstall Vista as well, just to be able to customize my menus right. (I think i'll be waiting untill I can get my hands on a x64 version this time though.
Been using this for sometime now and has been great! Makes VMC so much more personable. Keep up the awesome work Advent.
Small thing I have noticed and probabily been brought up in the previous 33 pages , but I have moved my Video Library tile to another strip separating the Picture and Videos. Now that I have done this if I exit out of the Video Library it reverts to the Picture Library strip, where this would normally sit.
By no means a big issue at all, just wondering if there is any way to get it to revert to the last tile opened?
Thanks again...
Oh just an idea, u should add this nifty program to the downloads section. Might make it easier for people to find the current release now that this thread is getting to monster status.

Thanks JavaH and swears, this should be resolved in the next release (not long now).

I'm afraid not - this logic is built in to Media Center.
Yes, looks like I have a bug where Menu Mender will crash when you have installed an addin that doesn't have a title set. I'll upload a new version soon, or in the meantime you can trawl through your registry and make sure every application key has a Title value.
Well, I tried to find this in the registry, but I don't know where to look and I guess it's not all that obvious... Can you give me a hint as to what key the addins are listed in so I can track down the one without a title?
Hi Advent, i was wondering how you were comming along with support for the new media centre tv pack update. As there is now an "unofficial" link on tgb to download the full rtm a lot of people may start upgrading.
I was tooling around with this for a while yesterday trying to get the "NBC Olympics" to act as it should. Unfortunately, after around 2 hours, I had to give up..
The NBC Olympics application starts TVTonic with some sort of arguments that I just don't understand. When I place the default entry point into my custom menu and start up Media center and select the "NBC Olympics" it says that there is a "Missing Interface".
Now, I wouldn't have a problem with this because scrolling down to the "Online Media" strip would net me the same result as a tile in my custom menu. But there are a few other programs that I use such as "MControl" (Home automation) that doesn't have a .mcl file and the UI won't start up if I have it in the custom menu. If I wanted MControl, I'd have to go into the programs library to start it up, just like I have to do on the "NBC Olympics"
I looked and looked through the registry and tryed to edit the "NBC Olympics" to reflect the same registry entry in the entry points.. It still wouldn't' work.
Can you offer me some sort of advice on how to get this set up?

You'll find them under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Extensibility\Applications. If you work it out i'd be interested in which one is missing a title. Otherwise, a new version that fixes this should be out soon.

Please help us Advent
I'm currently working on a new version that supports TV Pack 2008. Not too long now!

Hey Advent, hope everything is going well for the new release.
I ending up budging and reinstalling vista because of the error I had. I've been using your program very carefully and saving after every little change I make. It's been working great so far.
I wanted to give you a little bit of information that I ran into, in case you weren't aware of it already.
I noticed that by default, we can't change the location of certain items, like the "video library" under pictures and videos. This was pretty annoying to me, but I still had enough functionally to make some nice menu changes.
Then, today I swapped my Media Center Theme, to what I had during the last setup. The fish background (ehres.dll swap), and it turns out I'm now able to make those changes that I couldn't before. I'm not sure of how much more can be changed exactly (being careful not to break it again =p) but I will test it further and let you know.
Hello.
i have made a custom menu for My Games, and because of an error mc asked me if i wanted to disable the Advent custom strip.. or something like that.

Hello.
i have made a custom menu for My Games, and because of an error mc asked me if i wanted to disable the Advent custom strip.. or something like that.
so i said yes and now i cant bring it back
on MC Menu Mender it appears normally...
can anyone help me? thanks.
Try bringing everything back to default (upper left corner) in menu mender, then redo all ur changes.
If that doesn't work you'll probably have to reset it by swapping the ehres.dll
Check and see if you have a backup here: C:\Windows\ehome
