PCzapper.TV Introduces the Cheapest Extender for Media Center in the World; Now Everyone Can Enjoy Microsoft Media Center on Any Normal TV for Retail Prices Well Below EUR 100!

The product extends all the functions of Microsoft's Media Center to any normal TV, which can be located anywhere in the home. The package includes an official Media Center remote control and complete PC/TV connection kit plus Extender software.

The Media Center PC can be located up to 25 meters away from the TV. Vincent Everts, CEO: "our TV Extender is simple to install, easy to use and delivers excellent screen quality on TV." Re: PCzapper.TV - MCE Extender

Is it actually an extender, or is a type of interface duplicator ie KVM extender?
My dutch is not that good, but it appears as though the remote actually controls the media center pc (including dvd).

Thumbs down Re: PCzapper.TV - MCE Extender

It doesn't look like a "Media Center Extender" to me

It looks like an AV converter box that sits on top of your TV with a cable from there to your PC, connecting to the SVideo or Composite out and Sound card (and possibly USB).

I think software/driver installed just lets the box act as a Microsoft Infrared receiver and gives you a Microsoft OEM Remote to control it.

No Ethernet, No Wireless. Looks crap.

Regards,
Shane.

Re: PCzapper.TV - MCE Extender

Hi Guys and Gals
Why would I use this PCZapper? In my cave my Desktop PC and my laptop have DB15 (15pin -sub VGA style) output video ports and my BenQ projector has GRBHV (5 BNC) input port and comes with a L-o-n-g cable for DB15 to 5BNC.

For this input port the projector outputs HD format as either 720p or 1080i (unfortunately not 1080p for some new WMD HD movies found on http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...film/dvd.aspx).
So why cant I just play the PC content out in 1024x756 screen res (for 720p) OR in 1920x1440 res (for 1080i/p). Of course without a Media PC I wont have remote control functions. I cant see why I need this PCzapper.Tv thing? Anyone with tech knowledge have any different/same ideas on this?
Now I am overseas and away from my cave so I cant try it for another week.
