Windows Live OneCare Beta (v2.0) will regularly update itself based on emerging Internet threats so you can have better peace of mind.
Is x64 supported?
Yes. Download the Windows Live OneCare Beta (v2.0) and give it a try!
I'm a paid subscriber to OneCare, do I need to install the beta (v2.0)?
No. If you are already a paid subscriber for the publicly available service at onecare.live.com, then you are enjoying the certainty that comes with a Microsoft-shipped product. At the conclusion of the beta, all paid subscribers will automatically be upgraded to v2.0 for free.
And with free stuff, whether AV programs, or electronic program guides, you pretty much get what you pay for.
Oz
true for some things....like dvrms converters [/ducks from arkays left hook]
Im sure there are many here that can report having no issues with avast or AVG or whatever proggie they use for AV. I love avast... well as best as you can love an app anyway
and since MS hotfixes for Vista, freeEPG has been working a treat...its not as if ScheisseTv was working 100% before these hotifxes either. To get the remote stuff, you can use webguide, a wonderful app - where guide access is also free. FREE!
the only paid proggies I swear by are network magic and videoredo. Though mediacenterFX is looking great I must admit... The rest... meh.
but hey. whatever one is pleased with is what they will go with WLOC would be a nice tax write off though
I have been running Live Care One on my Media Centre/Home PC for a long time now (I think over 100 days) and yes it is out of date for the trial period and I haven't paid for it but it works well and does what I thought I wanted, I will now be downlading this and putting it through it's paces on this same PC/Media Centre delivery to my XBox360 and see how I go. I may even purchase it after the Beta trial.
I feel it is worth it and has benefits over free and other paid for equivalents...we will see in time I guess....off to do some downloading.
I use OneCare for my main PC at home, i find it works great. I know there are plenty of free options out there, and i always use to use them, but i managed to get a copy of onecare for about $40 when it first retailed so i was happy to pay that much.
