Joost is here and commercial

Joost which calls itself as the world's first broadcast-quality Internet television service, launched commercially this week. Though the service is still officially in beta, some of the company’s advertising partners (which include Coca-Cola, HP, Intel and Nike) have already begun showing their ads and the rest will begin later in the month. There are 32 companies ready to advertise on its Internet TV service at launch.

In addition, Joost beta testers can now send an unlimited number of invitations to friends, family. Both new and existing users can download a new version of Joost.
A peer to peer, ad-supported service founded by Skype and Kazaa founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström, Joost offers a TV like experience along with Internet like choice and control and social networking features. It is accessed via a broadband connection. Previously known as The Venice Project, Joost currently offers more than 150 channels across all genres, from cartoons to sports to documentaries.

Copyright restrictions limit programming to specific geographic regions at present, the most programming is available to viewers in the U.S.

Re: Joost is here and commercial

Let me know who wants an invite - I need the email address you want as your login to Joost for the invite.

Update: I have no problems giving out invites - just please Private Message me your name and email address rather than post your email address here.

Update: Can some of the others who have received invites from me (all 128 of you) please step up to assist others here to get invites? My typing fingers are getting tired, and I'm running out of post-it notes.

Otherwise you'll start getting hit by spam as the bots collect your email addresses from here.

Regards,
Shane.
