Re: Windows Home Server Beta Sign Up

Don't know if this will help but its from the release docs:

Quote:
Setup may hang if your DVD drive is configured as a secondary on a bus that has no primary.
This configuration causes problems with the Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE). Configure the drive as the primary, and then restart Setup.

Re: Windows Home Server Beta Sign Up

Yeah I applied twice using work and home emails and nothing so far. Guess they don't want us...

Pity, it looks like a really good piece of software

UPDATE - about 20 mins after posting this, my email from MSConnect came through. Probably coincidence but then why ruin a good conspiracy theory

Re: Windows Home Server Beta Sign Up

Quick question, does WHS always reformat every disk added? I currently have a file server at home which runs XP Home and has 40GB system disk and 2 x 300GB file disks. If I have read the documentation right (only had 5 mins last night), then I should install on the 300GB disks, not the 40GB as my current install is done?

Cheers,

Read ExtremePC's install story - he explains it well.
