Quick BRP Question

Hi There,

First of all, I want to say this is a top forum and I'm glad I found it. Theres a lot of traps for young players with setting up MCE properly, and I can't count the number of times this forum has saved me from losing my head of hair in the past few days.

Anyhow, my question is related to using the guide. I have BRP set up and it works a treat. I can see that it's created a scheduled task which is handy. My question is, when that runs, do I have to do anything in Media Centre to use the newly downloaded data? Or does it just retrieve it automatically?

Thanks in advance.

Lachie.

Re: Quick BRP Question

Hi There,

I forgot. I also have another query about the EPG stuff. In Media Centre, you assign listings to each channel. Can you only use each listing on one channel? Is there any way you can for example, add the listing for Nine to channel 9 and 90 (SD and HD)? Or can you only use it once?

Thanks again.

Re: Quick BRP Question

Lachie,

Welcome to the forums.

Glad to hear we've been of assistance to you

MCE does a guide download at a time which can be controlled. Can't remember the tool off the top of my head, but have a look around and I reckon you'll find it. The alternative is to go to the guide section under TV via settings and do a manual download (goes and grabs the local BRP data).

However if you don't touch anything MCE will on it's own accord grab the latest data, I've never felt the need to play around with MCE's EPG download time as the guide is always good to go when I'm using the box in the evenings and If I'm mucking around with it I'll kick off a BRP download then do a manual download via the GUI.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

Matt.

Lachie,

Impact has written a script to do exactly what you want. Have a search around the site and you'll find it.

Cheers

I thought that might be the case. Just as long as it will do it automatically at some stage I'm not really fussed, it only takes a second for it to download anyhow.

Thanks for your help.

Right on

I'm a great believer in, if it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

Enjoy your stay.

Cheers
