fixing "no data" results in lost series recording

Ok, I'm using Free EPG with OzTivo data but I don't think this is necessarily the problem.
Over the past few months they made some changes to the channels, which resulted in "no data". This was fixed by reassigning the channels in the guide.
Yesterday, the guide data disappeared for all channels here in Brisbane, today the data is back.

Both of the above situations results in stuffing up all series recordings. Even if the channel numbers remain the same, MCE can't find the channel and won't record the series.
The only way to fix this is to go into the series recording settings and changing the channel from the original channel to "any channel" and then back again to the original channel!

My wife has 50 series recording set up (past and present), so to do this for every channel takes ages.
Is there any way to fix this in a fast and simple way?

I have heard that some people just leave the channel at "any channel" but I am worried that it will then run into problems when the same show is on two channels at the same time (e.g. ABC and ABC HD).
Any ideas?

Steve
