BRP/ Oztivo= losing channels

Well here we go......
I'm using BRP/ Oztivo for my EPG but things are not going too well. I follwoed the guide to set things up and BRP seems to work ok ie. opens Oztivo, finds guide data, creates .bin file..... and the data does appear in MCE. But then, strange things happen.....

All issues eems to be related but here's what's been happing.....
- after a few mintues, I find I lose a random channel or 2
- if I go to 'Guide' sometimes MCE will lock up and spit out an 'exception that could not be handled' error for ehome application.
- I've received a few 'Guide could not be downloaded.....guide processing error (code:23) (I've looked into this and cannot find a fix)
- application error log shows a huge long list of errors which are either 'Failure opening database connection id=0' or 'Exception opening connection to database. Program Guide info not available. Data may be corrupt.... id=82' (Again I've looked into this but no luck)

I actually found a thread somewhere about code:23 and someones getting an exception error when trying to enter my pictures, etc and it was fixed with a registry edit. I tend to think my registery is missing something but I don't know what to lok for.

The other thing is if I reboot, I usually find all the guide data and channels are back...but not always. And they often dissappear again after a while.

And one more thing, I tried to delete everything in C:\Document and Settings....... Microsoft\eHome\EPG\ and reconfiguring but it hasn't worked.

Any help.....?????

Re: BRP/ Oztivo= losing channels

Bloody hell....it sure is quite in this end of the forums.
Anyway, if someone stubles across this and can help, I be very happy (suprised).

I've ended up doing a complete reinstall 'cause I though I may have stuffed something with all the fidling I've done. Then I tried BRP/OzTivo again but the same problem persists. I also tried FreeEPG/ OzTivo and got the same thing. That 'thing' is primarily a loss of channels after I "Add listings to channels" and the occasion "...exception that could not be handled" crash.

This has led me to believe that it's not the epg but something in my os that is screwing everything up. I can't imagine anyone will be able to help but I'd desperately love to get some assistance. MCE sucks without an epg...in fact, MCE SUCKS!!!!!!!!

If I can resolve this I'm goign to MediaPortal...which of course will mean weeks of configuing and working out a bunch of new problems. My god I hate HTPC's.......Oh how I'd love to get MCE to work well.
