Exclamation Foxtel + DTV - Bizarre Recording issues

Hello,

I've got foxtel and dtv setup according to info from here and it's working well however there is a weird glitch and i'm wondering if anyone knows why or a solution.

I can watch foxtel and record foxtel fine, I can watch and record dtv fine, however, if i start a dtv recording and then try change to watch foxtel, uh uh, not happening, it thinks its changing i think but it goes back straight away to the dtv channel im watching.

If i do it the other way around and i record a foxtel channel and then change to a dtv channel, that works fine, i can even record that dtv channel at that point.

if i try use the guide and schedule dtv and foxtel channels to record at the same time, it says there is a conflict, it seems to not realise it can use both tuners. but if i do it manually and start with recording foxtel, it works. baffled.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Foxtel + DTV - Bizarre Recording issues

Its a known issue mate with MCE, the work around is to record the foxtel channel you wish to watch from the guide and the change to the channel. It should work OK then...Once finsished just delete the recording.

I think this issue was solved in Vista....

I certainly didn't have this happen to me in Vista..

The other possibility is your settings for tuner priorities.. I had to fiddle with those to get mine working right..

For my system, I made my 2 digital tuners like this:

DTV =
RecordOrder = 0
RecordPrefered = 0
WatchOrder = 0
WatchPrefered = 0

DTV =
RecordOrder = 1
RecordPrefered = 1
WatchOrder = 1
WatchPrefered = 1

And my analog foxtel capture card:

Analog Card
RecordOrder = 2
RecordPrefered = 0xffffffff
WatchOrder = 2
WatchPrefered = 0xffffffff

All worked great after a reboot
