Blade Runner 3.0 & Dual Guide in North America

I currently have a dual guide setup in MCE 2005 by using Quickguide + XMLTV + my own programs. I had to modify Quickguide a little to get it to get start rating original air date ect... But it has some minor problems with selecting shows to record sometimes, so I would like to go at it a different way. I would like to use two guides which are produced from MCE not XMLTV and use Bladerunner 3.0 to load the guide into media center. Now I have got it working except for one problem, when I go into media center and setup the guide, it fails at the end and gives me a Error 23 code. But once you click finish, the guide loads and everything is working. That would all be fine except that if you update the guide then go to “Get latest guide”, it fails, and doesn’t update the guide. The only way to update is to do the setup again. I know that it isn’t all that bad to do that once a week, but I would rather it update automatically.

I have looked up the error code and tried everything ppl say would fix it, but it doesn’t. And I know it isn’t the xml guide file, because I get media center to download the guide, then try using bladerunner to load that guide (unprocessed except for decrypting the xml file) into MCE and it still gets error 23. I have also tried using an XMLtv file created using Quickguide and still no gravy. I am starting to think that it is GetHeadendList.html file from Bladerunner that is causing the problem. Looking at that file, it has different info than the header in my guide file, like the postal code is = 0000. There doesn’t seem to be any info on getting blade runner working in North America.

So, what I would like to know is does anyone know what the data GetHeadendList.html is for and what all the fields mean?. Also is there a way I can get that file from the http://data.tvdownload.microsoft.com/ … so I can compare what is really should look like? Or does anyone have another idea on what the problem could be.

Just so you know, there is a reason why I am using Bladerunner 3.0 not 3.5. Once I get this working, I want to use this in Vista MCE. And I can’t use Quickguide because that won’t work in Vista. So any help would be nice.

I have read that ppl want dual guides in mce, so once I get this completed, I might write an article on how to do it if there is an interest in this.

I have, that where I started from. But the guide tells you to use AUSTRALIA as your region, I cant do that because in North America we use NTSC not pal and media center complains about that.

I only suggest Australia because it uses the same PALB format as NZ and MCE prompts you for an area code. I'm from NZ and if I select NZ it doesn't ask, just says no guide.
You should be able to use the rest of the guide fine. Set your postcode to 0000 in MCE, as this is the area code that bladerunner 'delivers'
