Strange EPG recording problem

Over the last 2 years I have tried every EPG solution and interation that has appeared in these forums. The one I'm using at the moment is epgstream/oztivo which is working very well.
However in the last few weeks I have encountered the following issue which I have never seen before. Having set a program to record using the guide, when the appointed time arrives nothing happens! MCE doesn't switch to the correct channel nor does it start the recording. If you try to start manually with the record button a message appears to the effect that the guide cannot find the necessary program infomation in the guide therfore cannot record the program. (thats the message as best I can remember it.) The DAF is very low when she misses the start of NCIS each week. The only way to get it to record is to restart MCE and record it manually. Now this phenomina dosesn't occur in evey instance but of course one can't predict it and so one needs to monitor the record function. Not a lot of point in that particulary when you've got a series programmed

Anyway I would love to hear of any others who have seen this and maybe know of a solution.

Re: Strange EPG recording problem

I had problems recording channel Nine.
Overcame the problem after getting the latest guide listings (again) and then "Add listings to channel" (again). Recording worked using the guide but I have to perform the procedure every couple of weeks..

However tonight I could not record a particular program manually from Channel 7.
Tried pressing Record when live and in the guide. No recording and no error messages.
Other channels and programs worked OK.
I've restarted XP twice, powered off completely and restarted

Re: Strange EPG recording problem

I'm using ICETV and had this happen as well recently - restored a current image and all was well for about a day, then it reoccured - ran the ICETV installer and has been ok for a couple of days now. Could it have been a windows update? (I also found rebooting / redownloading didn't work).

Re: Strange EPG recording problem

Ok, from these experiences it seems that this issue may not be related to the type of epg being used but rather a process within MCE that has gone pear shaped. I haven't seen it othe renough to get a clear idea if it related to 1 channel or a time slot so 'll try and get more detail.

Re: Strange EPG recording problem

With regard to EPGstream/Oztivo I thought one of the problems may have been due to Channel Nine changing it's digital signature. eg. NINE DIGITAL to NINE Sydney.
However this usually shows up as no guide listing for the channel.
