Witches' Brew Needed

A friend of mine in Cairns saw my MCE rig in Sydney and had to have one. His problem though isthat he lives in Cairns and is only interested in getting guide data for Austar, not free to air stuff.

I have done some searching in the forums for this combo but am unsure if this is possible.

If it is, what are the pieces required to obtain, format, and load Austar guide data into an MCE box? Assembly instructions would also be appreciated.

Oz

Hey ozbear. Download EPGrunner. It allows you to select Austar digital and analog as guide downloads and quick check on office computer indicates data exists as 10,000+ program names listed as sourced.

Re: Witches' Brew Needed

Well .. not sure why people say it can't be done.

Basically just follow the directions in the guide using Bladerunner Pro and OzTivo Extreme. 90% of the channels of Austar digital are covered by the OzTivo guide ... and the ones which don't have data are not worth watching anyways.

I've configured my MCE 2005 Rollup 2 that way and it happly downloads Austar Digital guide data and happyly changes channels on my Austrar box and records all the stuff i want. The Austar box is hooked up to the tuner card using svideo in. For the channel changing you need the IR eye stuff (which should come with an MCE pre-installed box anyways .. if not they are cheap to get).

I am a pretty happy camper right now, except that obviously Austar Digital and Free to Air Digital _together_ is very difficult to achive ( I do have a solution but it involves a manual input signal switcher).

Lemme know if you need any more detailed help.
