HTPC Newbie

Hello All,
About 6 months ago I bought a nice big 42" Plasma and stuck a cheap conia SD STB on it until I could work out what I wanted to do for HD.
I didn't feel like shelling out $500 or more for just a tuner as I thought it was a waste of money so I started looking for HD PVR's. I found they were as rare as hens teeth and outragesly expensive. Checking around the forums the Toshiba seemed a bit dodgy and I just looked at the LG today but was't impressed that you can't hook up a PC to it.

Anyway, a couple of months ago I thought I could make myself a HTPC and that's why I'm here.

I've been looking at different setups including commercial brands to determine how to make my own.

So ,at the moment, here's my thoughts for a home made box....

Silverstone Lascala LC17 HTPC Black Chassis
ASUS P5LD2-V motherboard (when I can find somewhere that sells it)
ASUS ADD2 DVI card
Intel P4 840 3.2 Ghz
WD 300 Gb SATA HD
1 Gb Memory
2 Compro DVB T-300 cards
DVD Burner

I'd appreciate your thoughts.
