I just got a new laptop and it came with a tuner card and Vista with Media Center.
So I gave it a try and am very happy using it in combination with ICE to record and watch shows. But now the laptop is chained to the TV and Cable :-( so I need to get myself a proper HTPC.
I hope to find some hints here regarding the Hardware that works together easily and what special tricks I need to apply to get it to work.
What I want is a nice quiet box, big harddisk for MC plus an extra disk to use as a backup disk for the laptop and maybe one for fotos and music.
Guess I have to start browsing thru the hardware section of the forum....
If anyone has a good starting-point for me, that would be nice.
Oh, where do you shop for the hardware? Is it the DSE, Jaycar, Bing-Lee or is there some good online store?
Thanks a lot and I hope to give some knowledge back soon ...
