Hi,

I guess I'm a 'noob' but with a little time and persistance, I hope to be somewhat competant.

Looking to get my PC set up for HD so I can watch NFL games, which is a passion of mine.

Not sure what else to say, got two kids and hope to get married next year (finally).

I started out expecting to pay around $100 to get myself on the HDTV train. Spent hours searching for different cards and reviews, thinking my investment might be more towards $200.

My problem is that I never took the time to think through what I really wanted/needed.

Ten HD was the short answer.

So instead of looking at all the dual tuners and hybrid's, I was able to focus on a single HD tuner card. The answer....

Leadtek DTV1000S - for less than $40. WOW.

I have now installed it with very little fuss and my only problem seems to be connecting it to a decent aerial. It runs fine on 'rabbit ears' (Ten HD and a couple of other channels) for the time being. Stage 2 is to get in the roof of my house and connect it to the main aerial. I'll get around to that eventually.
