I live in Toowoomba, Queensland, am assembling a new computer to handle AVCHD files and stumbled on to your community. I firmly believe in forums as the most efficient and effective means of improving processes and problem solving.
At the moment I'm trying to get my head around the concept of RAID 0 Drives to improve the processing speeds of those huge AVCHD files - starting from scratch. My first step will be to scan all existing threads for clues and ideas.
So far I've chosen an INTEL Q9550 CPU and Gigabyte EP45-DS3 mobo with 4GB (800) A-data DDR 2 memory on my short list and am thinking of using a pair of WD AV 320GB SATA drives in RAID 0 for my AVCHD files with a separate 750 GB SATA Hard Drive for all other files and OS.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
