What sort of CD software? CD burning, CD reading, Duplicating? Also, better tell us what sort of CD drive and system you have. Many CD drives come with some basic software, have you tried that?

Go to your local computer shop and ask for OEM MCE 2005
They may ask you to buy something with it, get MCE remote.
