Re: Lost NINE guide data

Just to update this. I checked my guide and there is NO data for Nine or Nine HD. If you were expecting to record anything from Nine tonight, you had best do the manual record setup - back to the days of VCR programming.

Thanks Nine, you miserable cretins!

Re: Lost NINE guide data

Thought I'd log in and check if anyone else was missing data for ch9 and ch90, so I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

Whats this court case your talking about ?

I missed part 2 of the Scapelle Corby story.

If you want to catch up on this, I noticed that part 1 was repeated at midday yesterday, so part 2 might be today or tomorrow.

Suits me. If they don't want to play then I'd rather not watch...

Bye Bye 9...

Cheers,

Arkay.

Re: Lost NINE guide data

Maybe the stay was granted (or is that today)?

Re: Lost NINE guide data

It appeared late yesterday afternoon. If you read the Federal Court's directions of the 24/7 you will see that guide data had to be removed until but ICTV had until 5PM on 25/7 to seek a stay of those orders. Obviously they were successful in achieving a stay.

The full judgement is due to be handed down in the Federal Court by Justice Bennett this Friday 27/7 at 10AM.

The future of Nine's data appearing depends on this judgement and, if the judgement is in favour of Nine, the outcome of IceTV's application to appeal to the High Court.

Re: Lost NINE guide data

I believe the Nine data is back because IceTV are now compiling it without checking it against the published Nine weekly schedule. You'll notice that there are a few holes in the data where IceTV's predictive model doesn't work. In the past they would have plugged these holes by comparing their guide with the published schedules. They can't do that now - because of the appeal finding - but they can still publish the data based on their predictive template. That is still legal and does not infringe copyright.
