30% off IceTV Discount Code

Ok all, posted this here. It has been mentioned in Titanic thread and by bodogbodog
so any praise to him. But definetly worth mentioning again in a clear thread as discounts this year have been slim and I for one need to renew.

longliveicetv is the code and gets you 30% off all tiers

Thank you - it just goes to show that the old adage of "if you don't ask you don't get" is true!

I believe this discount only came about because I got cheeky and asked for it

All praise to ICETV for responding quickly to the request - saved me $30 and I've told quite a few online "friends" about it already

Enjoy!

I wouldn' be hasty renewing a subscription at any price until later today after the final verdict. IceTV's EPG service may not exist for too much longer.

Today may not be the final verdict. IceTV has applied to have the case heard by the High Court. Even if they lose today, if that is granted then all bets are off until after that hearing, which will be who knows how far off?

I know, I'm saying there is a possibility that the motion may not be granted as well as the final verdict.

Re: 30% off IceTV Discount Code

Agreed, but my point is you just don't know. The way the courts move this could drag on for another year. If everyone held off renewals until all final verdict were in, Nine wouldn't need to appear in court - IceTv would be bankrupt.

It's a complete farce of a situation.

It further drops to the realm of the ridiculous since Seven is the prime backer of TiVo coming into Australia, and TiVo is centred arond EPG, timeshifting and so on. Hence Seven is a de facto supporter of EPGs and Nine is doing everything in it's power to stop them. Is Nine going to take seven/TiVo to court as well? Nine is becoming a joke.

Not really the same thing, seven and TIVO have a business deal where there is a plan to make money from the joint venture. I'm sure if IceTV offered Nine several tens of million of dollars for the guide data there would be no issue.

I don't understand why you think they are a joke, Nine is a business and they're protecting their core assests in the only way that is technically possible. Rather than continually derride Nine how about offering up some possible solutions that don't involve Nine giving away their property.
