Remote function - is it still working?

The Remote function on the IceTV web site has stopped working for me recently. It used to show me what shows I had set to record. Now it doesn't. I've checked all the settings on my side, and everthing seems OK. My guide data is still being updated once a day like always. Is this just my setup or are others experiencing a problem with the Remote?

BTW I've sent two emails to IceTV support over the last couple of weeks, but they haven't responded.

Re: Remote function - is it still working?

I just posted about clearing the cache in the other thread.

Try that and see how it goes. AFAIK .17 was supposed to fix that problem, but there have been indications that it hasn't done so for everyone.

Re: Remote function - is it still working?

Tried resetting the cache. No joy . I still think it's a problem at the IceTV end. In the log the 'Send to server' and 'Get from server' commands seem to return an error like "Command rejected by server because it is made too often". Sounds like it's some sort of DoS protection kicking in, or perhaps the server is overloaded. That's why I was wondering if it was a widespread problem.

Re: Remote function - is it still working?

Problem fixed. Turned out to be a server problem at the IceTV end.

While I'm grateful to the guy from IceTv who took up the challenge of troubleshooting this, I'm mightily p@#$% at IceTV over their inaction on the matter.

The problem started over three weeks ago. I sent two emails to IceTV support and only received a confirmation that they'd recieved it two weeks after the second email was sent. It took a post on the IceTV forum to eventually get some action. Once someone took some action it was resolved within 24 hours.

If IceTV want to retain its subscribers it better start being a bit more responsive.

We agree.

We now have a new method for email support. There's a form on our contact page that automatically opens a case in our tracking software and emails you back a link to see the case. This means our users and support staff can keep a closer eye on the conversations and response times, plus you'll receive confirmation in a few seconds that we got your request.

This was implemented a week or so ago.

Thanks for your patience.
