Calling All ICE Guide & Remote Users, Should ICE remove the Year from Sports Series

Guy's Im hoping to get ICE to change its current habit of putting the year in sports series titles for most and not others (i want them to stop it completely) - if you have an opinion on this can you please head over to the ICE Forums HERE and vote in my poll and let ICE know that this is a pain for ICE Remote / WebGuide Users.

Essentially tho I see the problem as this, the practice of putting the Year in the main title of sports series forces us to create year by year series recordings and having to keep an eye out for them in the guide, this defeats the point series recordings.

ICE dont do it for the "Cricket: One Day Cricket International" or "Extreme Sport: Planet X Summer Games", but they do it to other sports series like Motor Sports, Cycling, Soccer and so on.

I believe they should put the Year in the sub-title instead, like they do for cricket .

Yes it should be straight forward really. I'm not sure why they do it but I've voted in favour of removing the year from the title.

I'm not allowed to watch sport, it's too boring apparently.

Yeah, I voted. Makes sense, there are ways around it with keywords etc, but it should be uniform.

I actually raised this with them over a year ago. They said they would look at removing the year, but it never happened.

Hopefully this poll will get them to change their minds. I voted yes.

Well so far 88% of respondents (small amount of voters i'll admit) are in favour of removing the date from the main tite and instead placing it in the sub title.

Hey Guys,

A little extra to consider ... We actually only remove the year if it's the current year. For example, throughout this year (2008):

"2008 Kellogg's Nutri Grain Ironman Series" becomes "Kellogg's Nutri Grain Ironman Series"
"2007 Kellogg's Nutri Grain Ironman Series" stays the same.
"2006 Kellogg's Nutri Grain Ironman Series" stays the same.
