For the past 12 months i have been a Ice customer and have loved every minute of it, earlier this month my 12 month subscription was set to run out and so i decided to give FreeEPG a shot before i invested in ice for another 12 months.
Let me just say that i didn't find it up to the standards i enjoyed with IceTV. None the less this is not my issue. I used the FreeEPG software to uninstall their guide and reinstalled Ice with the latest installer.
All seemed to be running smoothly, my guide was back up and running with about 7 days of guide available whenever i looked. The next day it complained about not being able to download the latest guide listings..error 7 i think although i could be wrong from memory. Now about 3 weeks later it is still getting my listings fine and keeping them nice and updated but it complains every day that it cannot.
I "think" this is something to do with registry keys not being properly cleaned when moving between guides. Is there a tool or way to remove all records of the EPG and reinstall it as if from scratch?
If there's noone here who can help then please email support@icetv.com.au to get an official response from the support team.
(Sorry, I'm not enough of a Windows/MCE gun to help you out with this one!)
I've actually been getting it a fair bit myself lately. I put it down to the fact I'd been shaped by my ISP and my speed was really really really (no really) slow, dial up in fact. So I didn't investigate it that much.
I'll keep an eye out over the next couple of days to see if it is ok now that I am not shaped, I know it doesn't help much.

Yeah, i had initially put it down to my connection dropping out, but i setup a couple of scripts to monitor it and it hasn't dropped once.
Well, i'm happy to say that this issue seems to have mostly fixed itself. When the ABC updated channel list came out i decided to do a channel scan and lo and behold it grabbed the guide with no issue.
Yeah, I tracked down my probs to the network connection on my VMC not renewing it's DHCP address & going in to that stupid "la, la, la, la, la, la, la, I can't hear you, I'm not listening, there's nothing there" network mode. I eventually set it to a fixed IP & disbaled all protocols other than IPv4 (I don't need the rest as all it does it get guide updates) & it seems to be going OK.

Excellent. I have always wondered what the technical term was for that mode.I must write it down so I don't forget!
