IceTV offering 25% discount Vista/XP MCE Users

From the email IceTV sent me

Quote:
Note: 25% Discount Offer is for a limited time & only available for the first 200 customers. Offer starts from today, (December 6) and will end at midnight January 6, 2008 or when all 200 codes have been activated.

Simply visit www.icetv.com.au/subcribe and select the 12 month IceTV Subscription (normally $99). Create a new IceTV account or log-in if you are an existing IceTV Subscriber (Don't worry! your current subscription won't be cut short, as any subscription you purchase will simply be added onto the end of your current account). Then enter the code 'newwidgetcomingsoon' in the ‘discount code’ field provided (located directly above the Terms & Conditions) and you will see the discount applied to your purchase on the following page.
Excellent as my subscription was expiring in less than 2 weeks

Mysteron,

Thanks from me as well. Your post prompted me to check out my remaining subscription and saw that I had less than a month left.

I'll raise a toast you with a glass of the good bottle of red I buy with the $25 I saved.

Cheers,
Patricio

I agree. As a subscriber for 18 months, unless I hear of another discount offer directly I'll be switching to free epg in September.

Under the account options on the website, did you bother ticking the "inform me of offers and events etc" box?

Re: IceTV offering 25% discount Vista/XP MCE Users

I have now. It doesn't use your wording, but says:
Quote:
I wish to receive email containing news relating to services provided by IceTV.
which is rather more vague.

Yep that happened to me, wasn't getting any emails from IceTV and it was ticked. My subscription even expired and I wasn't informed!!

Turns out that if one email from IceTV is bounsed back for what ever reason, there email system just gives up... forever! They reset my account on there email system after I emailed there support.

I'm following this up internally. Maybe we just need to require the email addy to fail twice (or a certain number of times), plus have it disable the "email me" check box in the user settings, so users can turn it back on.
