Lightbulb Ice TV Remote issue

Hi All,

I am currently using a trial of ICE tv and find the guide info useful however I am unable to get the 'remote' function working. I feel that there is not much point in subscribing if I can not get this feature working as it is really the only advantage over the TV guide that comes free in the local paper.

I just need to know what I should be checking? As far as I can tell, my guide on my Vista Home Premium box is updating but when I schedule a recording via the remote on the website, it does not update on my media box at home.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Cheers,

Sam.

Is your box on 24/7??? I thought that if I scheduled a recording on the website that it would wake my machine and make sure that this was reflected on the box itself. That proved not to be the case.

Ice TV doesn't run as a service and so will not update automatically (ie wake your machine if you make a change on the web). What I set up is to set a scheduled task to run that wakes my machine during the day, then when it wakes to do the task it updates the guide with my changes.

If your machine is on 24/7 then ignore my dribble, but if its not then this is probably the issue.

Re: Ice TV Remote issue

Thanks the the replies. Yes the box is on 24/7 and I will now try to contact ICE TV as everything else works quite well, I'm sure this is just some tiny tick box.

Cheers,

Sam.
