IceTV Sues Execs

From today's AFR (so sorry no link)

"IceTV has sued its founder and its former chief executive for unspecified damages after the two men set up a consultancy business that IceTV alleges competes with its own soon to be launched online video content business"

Sure the story will surface on a linkable news service soon so I'll get back to my morning cuppa rather than typing the full details.

TV Networks Cave In Over EPG Service

"The Nine Network which is suing Ice TV in the Australian Federal Court over the creation of EPG content appears to have had a change of heart following the commercial television industry's decision to embrace the digital era by launching a free electronic program guide (EPG) covering all free-to-air channels within three months."

One of the recent news reports said that the judge was meant to reach a decision "later this year". However, nothing has been said on Peter Vogel's blog since December...

Sorry to hear about this latest development. I almost feel guilty right now being an IceTV customer, since I joined the program on the basis on the support you gave this forum during the turmoil of the Nine stupidity.

Being almost near October 2007, I hope this doesn't stop you being carrying through with your grand plans

Update: IceTV to find Out the Verdict tomorrow

Justice Annabelle Bennett is ready to deliver her verdict for the copyright case made by the Nine Network against IceTV mid-late last year (Case File # NSD-935-2006).

If you are interested in attending in person, the decision will be handed down tomorrow morning at 9:30am in Court Room 20C of the Federal Court of Australia, Level 16, Law Courts Building,
Queens Square, Sydney.

So Come on guys lets get behind IceTV and Give them our support

I will post the final Verdict on the front page tomorrow once it has been handed down

Breaking News… IceTV wins Case against Channel Nine!!!
Justice Annabelle Bennett has this morning ruled in favour of IceTV in the case brought against IceTV in May 2006 by the Nine Network in the Federal Court of Australia. Nine had claimed that IceTV’s electronic program guide infringed copyright in its television schedule.
