Guide not working after new Motherboard

Hi Everyone,

Found this old thread that describes my fault but no reply was given at the time and I'm hoping someone may be able to help now

interesting one here ..

I just replaced my mainboard (RA - replaced it with the exact duplicate). Vista loaded and recognised everythign how it was.

Got into media center and it said i had to rescan my tuners .. fine i say .. and off it goes.

Then i go into settings --> guide --> set up my channel order preference --> select the channels i want --> then add icetv listings to my channels .. and

IN THE MAIN MENU AREA NO GUIDE ICON ..
theres live TV / recorded TV etc .. but the guide icon isnt in there

So i select a channel and the MINI guide is working .. wtf?

Any suggestions?? Is there a reg setting to open up the guide like My dvds?

Im using IceTV with the latest version of their pimptv plugin for vista.
Also if I press the Guide button on the remote I get the No Guide Listings available in your region message
TIA

Ouch that sound painful.

I have never had this problem but I was wondering if you attempted to reinstall the IceTV Setup application, then re-run the Guide Setup in VMC?

Re: Guide not working after new Motherboard

Thanks Phaselock,

Yeah I have tried that a few times and have downloaded the latest IceTV without the Pimp and still the same so I'm thinking I might have to reload Windows and try again as the WAF is dropping very fast
Interesting thing is I have guide info there but the guide does not appear in the menu's, if i push the info button during a program i get the full info and i can even push record twice to record the series???

Re: Guide not working after new Motherboard

That is so weird.

Other than PM test7875 to see what they had to do - I don't have any other suggestions (apart from the extremely small task of re installation )

Re: Guide not working after new Motherboard

So you've gone through MCE setup again since you changed the motherboard?
(Tasks->Settings->General->Windows Media Center Setup->Run Setup Again)

Did the CPU type change as well?

If the above didnt work, I'd probably re-install Vista on the machine (Hopefully your recordings/pictures/music are on a different partition on the disk, or can be moved to some other partition or disk).
