Have you tried rebooting your machine and download again?

Re: IceTV unable to get any guide data today

This happened to me yesterday morning. My guide data was incomplete, so I initiated a guide download manually. MCE said the new listings were downloaded successfully. So I went back into the guide, to find that ABC was the only channel with any guide data.

After a bit of further mucking around, including several reboots, I still had ABC guide data only. I logged onto my IceTV account and noticed that the last guide fetch had been done the previous day - so my request to download guide data that morning either hadn't reached IceTV, or IceTV hadn't authenticated my fetch request.

Now, my understanding is that IceTV sends sample data for the ABC for non-authenticated fetch requests. So, I thought that my fetch request had reached IceTV and that it hadn't authenticated properly.

So I re-installed the IceTV software and re-entered my account details, returned to MCE and downloaded the guide data again. Success, after this I had a complete guide again.

I am not sure where the problem lies, but maybe you could try re-installing IceTV and re-entering your account details and see if that helps.

This occassionally happens - sometimes with a MS Update, but certainly occurs after you install a media extender...

You can always tell - because the ABC guide data you receive and is shown - says sample data in its description...

A quick re-install of the icetv setup and its configured and done!

Re: IceTV unable to get any guide data today

You can also run the ICE PIMP client to do the job of re-setting your credentials (essentially what you're doing by reinstalling the software) - you don't have to use the other features of it. It can munch a bit of RAM though.

Justin

Edit: I should add, PIMP can be set to "reset" the ID to the correct one on a daily basis - handy if you do auto Windows updates. If your Windows updates are downloaded & installed @ 3AM, you can set the guide ID to check & reset itself @ 4AM in case the updates have stuffed things. If your scheduled guide update then happens at 1PM, you should never run in to the "sample data" issue.
