IceTV Problems

Anyone else having problems with IceTV at present?

Their site says 100% OK but I can't log into my account, download their setup software, or get guide updates. I started with the third after reloading a previous image - and worked back through the other two!

Their support line is engaged!

Re: IceTV Problems

Hi,
Yeah, If you go to the site and try to login (through "My Account"), it shows:-
Database error: Table 'ice3.tblMembers' doesn't exist

Technical problems ?

Or is Channel 9 winning ?

Re: IceTV Problems

Yep,

Same error I get - and a bunch of others.

Left message with support (supposed to be there until 9pm) but no response.

Re: IceTV Problems

There was a problem with the database that required it to be restored.

We are hoping that it will be finished shortly, but don't currently have a time frame.

And unfortunately though as the site is database driven the status can't be updated at the moment.

Re: IceTV Problems

Thanks Daniel,

I will take that at good news - at least it means I didn;t break something in my rebuilding!

Good luck with the repairs!

Re: IceTV Problems

Everything is now back up and running.

The majority was back early this morning, but everything is now back to normal.

Re: IceTV Problems

Site's back up and all seems to be working again but I still can't get more than "ABC (Sample Data)" when I try to add listings to channel. I called them and they reckon everything looks fine from their end so I tried the suggestion at http://www.icetv.com.au/support.php?faq_id=46. I've also uninstalled IceGuide4MCE and reinstalled fresh on their suggestion, and I've also done a sytem restore back to when I know it was working but to no avail. The channel listings just seem to have vanished on me.
Is anyone else getting the same thing or is it definitely something at my end? If so, any suggestions?

Angry Re: IceTV Problems

Yeah - I lose my guide data and channels everyday. I've had it with ICE TV!!
As a test I ran the machine without any Ice Tv or guide data installed and never lost any channels for over three days. I've nailed every item on my MCE except this and it's the only reason anyone would really want one of these media PC's. I'm giving it one more week and then I'm buying a set top box with a hard drive. My wife hasn't the skill nor the patience to rescan for channels every morning and reboot a billion times. I'm sleeping in the lounge because of all the money I've wasted. I bet Bill Gates's MCE works just fine...!!!

Has anyone out there found a patch or fix for this issue??
Does it happen with Vista?? If not - I'll switch today.
I'm willing to pay $100 to someone who can give me stable guide data for a fortnight and six channels to choose from each morning.
