Angry Vista 64 and IceTV help

Hi all,

I cant seem to get vitsa 64 to recognise IceTV.
It was working no probs on Vista 32 but now ive gone to 64 forget it.

My steps were as follows (ive done it before!)

1) Load IceTV V1.4
2) Load Keepkey
3) Go into VMC --> Tasks --> TV --> Guide --> guide setup and then it wont pickup Ice

I get no the no guide for your region message ... The WAF is killing me.

All help appreciated .. but my gut is leaning towards the registry and vista 64 ,, ive loaded and reloaded it in all sorts of ways...

Re: Vista 64 and IceTV help

AND have you contacted Icetv ? Can not see anything listed on their support forum at
http://www.icetv.com.au/iceforum/

It always amazes me why so many posts about icetv configuration or issues end up here, without going to the actual company.

I guess your right about the registry... its a 32 bit application and 64bit Vista does not update the registry as expected of it... There is part of a thread over at the icetv forums discussing it, with solution provided, and a couple of responses saying it fixed it... http://www.icetv.com.au/iceforum/index.php?topic=346.0 maybe helpts?

OK, there is a registry fix for the 64 bit version of Vista. IceTV guide installs as a 32 bit application, so Widnows Vista 64 bit moves it in to a different area of the registry from whats expected. You need to be looked in as Administrator to fix this:
* Ensure Media Centre is not running
* Press with windows key + R to bring up the run dialogue
* Run Regedit
* Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\EPG
* Right click on the EPG folder and Export to a place of your choosing.
* in Windows Explorer, right click on the newly created reg file and choose edit.
* Remove the Wow6432Node reference so that it now reads:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Service\EPG]
* Save the file.
* Right click on the reg file and select merge and agree to the warnings
* Run Media Centre, go and set up the TV guide and it should ALLLLLL be working :-)

Hope that helps any 64-bitters out there :-)
And as always, never play in the registry if you dont know what you're doing!

Looks like a fix?

well no wonder, I can't find a link to their forum anywhere on their website? surprised there isn't a link to it from their support section.

Re: Vista 64 and IceTV help

But there is a link - got icetv.com.au - click on the support tab - your now at the support page.

The very first line says "Discuss support issues in the icetv forum" with the icetv forum in their ice blue. Click on any of that text and voilla you end up at http://www.icetv.com.au/iceforum/

Granted its not obvious like - click here to go to the support forum - but moving the mouse over this shows its a hyperlink....

(I also have my glasses on at the moment - hence probably why I found it - LOL )

Re: Vista 64 and IceTV help

I also tried the above steps, and also did the same with the icetv reg, and it worked perfectly!

now I just have to resolve a multiple tuner issue, and i'll convert to VMC!
