Lcd Tv To Be Used As A (ht)pc Monitor.

Folks

As part of my proposed HTPC build, I want to ensure that I can use my yet-to-be-bought LCD to properly/fully display web pages.

Question 1 - Will LCD's such as the Samsung Series 6 46 LA46A650 full high definition 100Hz, Dynamic Contrast Ratio : 50,000:1, LCD TV, properly display web pages?.

(NOTE: I probably will be looking at the equivalent Series 7 model).

Question 2 - is there anything I need in the HTPC build to ensure I can get the web properly/fully on the LCD?

Question 3 Can someone explain 'overscaling', which I think is the term used to describe how webpages do, or don't, properly/fully display on LCD TV.s.

Thanks

BruceG

Re: Lcd Tv To Be Used As A (ht)pc Monitor.

The LCDTV should be the same as using a PC Monitor.

My Samsung TV is being used at 1920x1080 and as long as I select the Just-Scan display option on the TV then there is no overscan. (also called pixel to pixel mapping)

This site http://pixelmapping.wikispaces.com/ explains it quite well as well as having a list of TVs that support proper pixel mapping (it seems to have got a little out of date now).
