Harmony 785 Remote

Hi,

I have the 785, and am finding it works pretty well. However, can someone advise me:
1. HOW do I program it to wake the Media Centre up from hibernation/sleep (or is it better to disable hibernation); and

2. I'm finding it communicates straight out of the box with the MCE (I've got a black ANTEC Fusion case), but I want to move the receiver (As the MCE sits behind a cabinet door) and would like to therefore have a USB receiver. I get that the best way to do this is by purchasing a Windows MCE remote and chucking the remote, but am having no luck in purchasing one - where do I get one of these in Oz?

Hi Alison

Like gold dust I'm afraid. The alternative that seems to be doing the rounds is the 'Hauppauge MCE Remote Control Kit USB' for around $45. No idea what the remote is like but it will get you the receiver.

In control panel / power settings / change what powerbutton does....... change it to 'sleep / wake (sorry, doing this from memory)

Then the power on button on the 785 will sleep or wake. Also I think most find it best to go with S3 sleep and not hibernate.

I've been hunting about, and have found (thanks to Mattwalker) that a remote control repeater will do wat I want nicely. Selby Acoustics (selbyacoustic.com.au) have them for $29.95 plus freight. Will transmit to 3 devices.....
