2-3" Vertical black band on LG 42' Plasma

Hey all,

a friends (no honest its his not mine) plasma has just developed above mentioned fault, it is intermittent. Possibly temp related (a dry solder problem??)

has anyone come across this fault?

It is out of warranty so if anyone has any knowledge of this fault I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance

Pred.
