Try different mpeg2 codec. Download trial version of PowerDVD and change default codec with this utility

No need to deinstall Purevideo.
Just install PowerDVD and use utility to change default codec.

update your NVidia drivers too.

Re: Sony Bravia X shuttering, Picture Qaulity

Richie, seeing your ongoing problems I'm wondering if you are correctly setting the preferred decoder. It seems that you have the same problems that you had before changing video cards, which tends to confirm your suspicion that the problem is not hardware

From memory you need to run two utilities to change codecs, one utility is used to set the codec and the other one, which you are using, sets the preferred codec in xp.

Re: Sony Bravia X shuttering, Picture Qaulity

What about making sure the refresh rate is set at 50hz instead of 60hz?

Memory does not serves you well this time
This utility will do both.

Re: Sony Bravia X shuttering, Picture Qaulity

The two utilities requirement applies in Vista only, and only for setting the preferred codecs as AVIVO.

For the OP, you should also consider using the ATI AVIVO codecs (avaible from your cards drivers page), as they are very good quality (and also free).

Do they do FF/RW yet? Sorry, been out of the ATI loop for a while.

Thanks

Assuming that you selected it in deccheck, the errors would be down to no sound decoder. You'll need to set FFDShow to decode (or pass via SPDIF if that's what you need) AC3 & MPEG audio.
