New Home Theatre Projector Recommendations !

Hi All

I am looking at adding a projector to the home theatre room to used in conjuction with the our 50" Panasonic. It will be mainly used for movies.

I am looking at about a 100" screen and the seating distance is approx 4m from where the screen is.

Any suggestions, recommendations would be greatly appeciated.

Cheers
Andrew

How noisy is nosy ?, its going to on the ceiling above where we will be sitting.

Can I ask how large your screen is and the distance you have it from your screen ? and what I should expect to be paying for one.

Cheers

Its noisy enough that if / when I need to replace I will take that into consideration, but not noisy enough that it will cause me to change. I've found one important thing is that if you need to crank up the brightness to max then the fan certainly runs louder to achieve this.

210cm screen, about 280cm away for the seating, projector directly overhead at about 260cm (very high open ceilings).

Not sure about current pricing, have had mine for well over a year and got it through a mate who works in Epson, so the price was truly right ie staff rates.

Re: New Home Theatre Projector Recommendations !

I would reconsider.
Contrast ratio is crap on front projectors. Any light will ruin it completely, unless you have room with a total light control.
There not that much good movies around and TV is better on Plasma/LCD.
