Re: LCD TV's

I think the Sharp Aquos is better, but it's all down to your personal opinion.

Have a look here

I personally prefer Pioneer Kuro, but it is over my budget

Re: LCD TV's

yeah i just read that.

I looked at sharp LC46D83X and the Sony KDL46XBR and the sony has a better native contrast ratio, and the sharp is a little more expensive.

just tried looking at the pioneer website and only could find plasma's ?

No, they don't have the market share of the Sonsungs, so they don't get talked about much. I've run my VMC on a 46 and 52 inch one at my mate's custom install shop and wow! Well worth a look, but because of the lower market share, there's less places selling them, so the Sonsungs usually come out cheaper.

Re: LCD TV's

sharp seem to get bigger discounts on tv's from looking around too and 3yr warranty compared with sony 1yr.

sharp lc46d83x 3679.05

cheapest at the moment i can find XBR is 3999 for the 46"

might head down the shops now to compare and then start hunting for best prices

I wouldn't be basing any decisions on figures quoted for TVs - they're far too rubbery.

Re: LCD TV's

XBR is the same as X but with some metal plating. Inside they are the same. Retravision sells them for $3600 for 46"
I am skeptical about Sharp. Especially 100Hz technology implementation .
But again, it is all personal, you better go and have a look for yourself.

You are definitely not your typical LCD owner. Not many people could bring themselves to make a statement like this, no matter how true, after having just bought a big LCD.

Re: LCD TV's

well

after going down to a few places and seeing for my own eyes.

Sony Bravias are the pick of the bunch in regards to LCD's, however i saw
the pioneer plasma right next to it..

the kuro is a damn nice tv, even if it is plasma!!!

so now i have the following:

pioneer kuro 50" plasma 5yr warranty
sony 46" KDL46XBR 1yr w
