LCD - Toshiba 46X3000A or 47WL68A?

Hi,

I am looking at buying a new LCD and I am impressed with the Toshiba's. I cannot decide which model to buy and would like to know if anyone has either model? and what they like/dislike.

The 47WL68A is about 7 months old, but was there flagship model. It does not have a in-built DTV tuner. I will be connected it to a HTPC, so is it really an issue?. It has a refresh rate of 6.5ms and uses Meta Brain PRO, but is not 100hz. 12000:1 contrast ratio. Full HD model, 1080P (50/60Hz).

For the same price (roughly) the 46X3000A (supersedes 47WL68A) has just released. It has an in-built DTV tuner. Refresh rate of 8ms using Meta Brain PRO. 10000:1 contrast ratio. Full HD model, 1080P (24/50/60Hz).

The X3000A can handle 1080P at 24Hz, but has a lower refresh rate and a lower contrast ratio.

Both are available just under $3000.

Your comments please,

Cheers,

Re: LCD - Toshiba 46X3000A or 47WL68A?

It sounds like they're changed panel suppliers - they're in bed with Sharp now aren't they?

I've seen the Sharp 46" (hooked up to my own VMC in a mate's shop) & looks smoking hot, so I'd be leaning that way. Don't get too hung up on specs - who knows if they're using the same "scale" when quoting the 2 sets of figures?
