HDMI - DVI 42" 1024x768 plasma Best setting

Ok I have a Samsung Q9 42" 1024x768 Plasma and I want to hook it up to my computer running Vista Media Center on a Nvidia 8800gt.

What are the best settings to get the best looking picture aspect etc with no stretching of the image?

Any suggestions much appreciated

1280x720@50Hz & then (if you use the 174.12/16 beta drivers) resize the desktop.

Edit: Also change the digital colour otput from RGB to YCrCb444

Can you only set those options with the 174.12 drivers? At the moment I have set the Nvidia drivers to see the tv as a HDTV with 720p output

Yes, resize @ 50Hz is only available with the 174.12/174.16 drivers (maybe the 174.20s) - treat as HDTV needs to be set.

The colour option has been available since the early 160 drivers.

Do I tick the interlaced option box when choosing the custom resolution?

Not for 720.

Using the desktop resize sliders means that you shouldn't need to create a custom resolution (the process of resizing will create it for you).

It should be under a menu called "select digital colour format" under "television & video", although some people have reported that it's not available with all card/TV combos.

It relies on the driver knowing that it is feeding an HDMI port on the TV - if the TV doesn't provide that info (i.e. the driver doesn't know if it's HDMI or just DVI) then it won't be available.
