Go on... recommend me a 40-42" lcd for my VMC...

...Right, here we go. Large wad of cash set aside. Space made in the living room. WAF on media center high enough to facilitate stupidly large TV for tiny house. VMC chomping at the bit.

My wife says I'm looking at a TV no larger than 42", and LCD (she's a power engineer, and plasmas make her angry. She's a 2nd degree TKD black belt. Don't make her angry. You don't want to see her when she's angry).

From reading the forum, there are issues with the Samsung and X series Sonys? Is that right? So, c'mon, team: recommend me a good TV.

Robust debates welcome.

42" Samsung F81 series, stunning no real issues.

What about the 1:1 pixel mapping errors mentioned in this thread?: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...msung-lcd.html

Do they apply to the F81 series?

Yep just like that post, simply hitting the "just scan" button on the remote cures the 1080 overscan issue. If you use the harmony or some such learning remote just put the just scan code into the macro used to switch to the MCE/VMC input.

With the F8 series (I have one) you just set it and forget it. Once in Just Scan it sticks!
