Help! No live or recorded TV audio over SPDIF

Hi all,

I hooked up my new Panasonic SE-XR57 digital amp last night, replacing my old mini-system that I was using with an analog connection to my VistaHP HTPC with onboard sound.

The connection is coax SPDIF using a regular RCA cable. I've set the default sound device on the pc to the SPDIF device.

I am getting an audio signal passed and played thru the receiver when playing music or videos in VMC (as well as windows sounds and when clicking thru menus etc).

But I don't get any audio when trying to play live or recorded tv. I hooked up an analog connection to the new receiver and was able to get the audio thru the receiver that way, but I can't seem to figure out why it won't work with the spdif connection.

Any ideas on what to try would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Sheepy
