Question Webguide & Redirects

I have been using Webguide4 for a while and I have it set not to use port 80. As a result my URL to get to webguide from the net via my Dynamic DNS host is something like name.DNSHost.com:XXXX where XXXX is the port number.

Now, to make it easier to remember, I also put a web redirect in place (this is another free service from the Dynamic DNS provider). This means to get to webguide I have the simpler name.redirect.com style of URL that points me back to the main domain name.

This has worked fine, but I haven't used it for some time, and when I tried it tonight it behaved very strangely.I got to the login screen without issue, but when I put my credentials in, it just returned me to the login screen. Now yje username/password were correct (I even tried an incorrect one and it errored with invalid username or password as you would expect) but I couldn't get past the login screen.

Playing around I found that if I used the direct URL - name.DNSHost.com:XXXX - it logged me in fine. Using the redirect URL gets me in this silly loop

Any ideas as to why the redirect is now not working? I'm thoroughly confused.
